The Legend of The Peep Show

The birth of The Peep Show is a strange, unique story made by fate.
We are not exactly sure when the drink was originated,
but we believe is was back in the early 1960's."

In 1999, The World Famous Penny Gardens Tavern was going through some renovations. While rummaging through the clutter, an old chest was found in the basement. The chest was filled with interesting treasures including many traditional, old drink recipes such as the Rusty Nail, Martini, etc. There were also old newspaper clippings from the early 60's about the neighborhoods surrounding the bar like Pennypack and Academy Gardens. but tucked away in the corner of the chest was a glass bottle with what looked like a sealed envelope inside. We broke the bottle and out came the envelope marked "secret".

The contents of the envelope appeared to be a drink recipe made up of an unusual blend of ingredients that none of us recognized. This was something we were going to have to try, but it would not be easy.

We are willing to share the process with you,
but not the ingredients.

First, we needed to obtain the finest organic wild berries from the Virgin Islands and have them shipped here in their ripest condition. The berries would then need to ferment in five liquors, of which three are imported. This mixture is maintained at the same temperature and checked twice daily until we belieive the natural juices are at their best. Once we are satisfied with the results, we add the last ingredient that is not in the original recipe. This is something we added to bring The Peep Show to the next level. We believe this is what makes The Peep Show so successful today.
